Welcome to the DynastyNet IRC Network! You have found one of the best and most unique chatting networks that the internet has to offer. We are a family and gaming-oriented network that does not allow the majority of content of most other IRC Networks today. We are free from the hassles that bog you down, therefore letting you solely concentrate on chatting and having a good time. At DynastyNet you will not find anything of illegal content, including pornography, warez software, and hacking-related channels, just to name a few. What we do provide is a fast, friendly, and reliable chatting network, full of friendly people and staff that are always willing to help out and make sure that your chatting experience is the best possible.

DynastyNet is governed by an executive board, named “EBoard”. This is the body that approves the decisions made by the committees, and oversees all committees. EBoard has the final say in all network matters, and is composed of network and server administrators.

SlashNet

Written on July 2, 2008 – 6:43 pm | by dingumama |

SlashNET is an independently-operated IRC Network. Originally sponsored by Slashdot, in 1999 SlashNET split-off to become its own entity. While you may recognize the nicknames of some Slashdot editors, and meet many Slashdot readers and contributors, we are neither an OSDN subsidiary nor a support forum for Slashdot use. SlashNET runs IRC Services, to facilitate nickname and channel maintenance, and the IRC server software we use, UnrealIRCD, features several enhancements over standard ircd, such as optional hostname and IP address cloaking to help protect you from denial of service attacks. The help section answers some frequently asked questions about using these features.

Several well-known communities and projects maintain an IRC presence at SlashNET, including #slashdot, #slash, #kuro5hin, #sourceforge, #lnx-bbc, #penny-arcade, #joyoftech, and the increasingly popular IRC idle RPG, #g7. We invite your community or organization to find a home on our network as well.

Quakenet

Written on June 7, 2008 – 5:24 pm | by dingumama |

QuakeNet is an IRC network, built around the gaming community, and is an organisation that facilitates the communication of many teams and online organisations. Though originally founded as a chat network for gamers, by gamers, QuakeNet welcomes everyone to chat about anything (within its rules). QuakeNet is also currently the largest chat network in the world.

QuakeNet has no NickServ, but does allow users to register to the network via Q. This allows access to QuakeNet services, as well as the ability to hide your IP address (with a AUTH.users.quakenet.org host, where AUTH is the name of your network account). This account, created when you register, is known as a Q account. Q also acts as a channel service bot for large channels, with a large userbase. It has facilities such as topic and ban enforcing, auto limits, and so on. The main function, however, is to protect your channel and allow it to be recovered in the event somebody takes it over.

Finally, QuakeNet provide an anti-spam bot called S. This is only available to very large channels, and acts to reduce any spam in your channel.
